Rich Casler

Rich has been in the Ag Business for 37 years, having started in 1976 as a trader for Interstate Commodities in Troy, NY where he also held the position of Director of Transportation.

In 1988, he left Interstate to form, what would later become, FITC. Over his career, Rich has traded virtually every grain based by-product used in livestock feed in the Northeast. He currently focuses on protein products such as soybean meal and canola meal. Rich has served on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Ag and Feed Alliance and its predecessors for the past 13 years (including 10 years as Secretary). Rich graduated in 1972 from State University of NY at Oswego with a major in Political Science and a minor in Economics. After graduation, he came to Albany to pursue an MBA in the field of Public Administration at the University at Albany. Rich has been married for 42 years and has daughters, both very active in their professions. Rich enjoys boating, motorcycling and travel.

Greg McCulloch

Greg has been a shareholder at FITC since 2013.  Prior to FITC, he was an equity trader at Broadway Trading in New York, NY.

Greg is our head distillers trader and has been the force behind the company’s expansion into areas west of the Northeast.  He has a M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University at Albany. Outside the office, he enjoys playing lacrosse, skiing/snowboarding, and mountain biking.

Joe Hodgson

Joe has been in the commodity trading business for over 25 years, after having held various other positions in the feed & grain industries. He began with FITC in 1995 and is primarily focused on merchandising cottonseed, oats, soy hulls and wheat midds.

Joe is FITC’s resident expert in truck transport and logistics. Joe’s regional emphasis is from New York south thru Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Joe’s a 1970 Virginia Tech graduate. His son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren reside in North Carolina. He enjoys escaping to Florida to avoid the Northeast’s winters.

Mike O’Meara

Traffic Manager & Senior Trader


Mike has been with FITC since 2007. Immediately prior, Mike was Operations Manager for one of the region’s largest Home Depot stores where he was responsible for 65% of the store’s sales and managing 150 employees.

For FITC, he focuses on the canola meal, beet pulp, and citrus pulp markets, in addition to managing rail logistics. Mike also handles the purchasing for one of FITC’s largest dedicated accounts. Mike graduated in 1997 with a BS in Business Management from Canisius College. He is married with two daughters and one son.

Mike Smith

Director of New Business Development & Senior Trader


Mike has been with FITC for 5 years. His primary trading focus are in the areas of wheat midds and bakery by-product.

He also spearheads the purchasing for one of the company’s six “dedicated” accounts. Prior to FITC, Mike spent 2 years at R.E.G., originally part of West Central Coop. He also had 21 years of tenure at Blue Seal Feeds where he advanced to the position of Executive Vice President with responsibility for 9 feed mills, 11 retail stores, and the oversight of the purchase of over 600,000 tons of feed ingredients annually. Before Blue Seal, Mike spent 7 years trading at Pillsbury. Mike is married with two daughters. Mike enjoys brewing his own beer at home and loves trips to Maine.

Michel Jourdenais - Jourdo, Inc.

Feed Ingredient Trading entered into an independent contractor's agreement with Michel and his company, Jourdo, Inc., to represent FITC's marketplace in Canada, handling primarily wheat midds/shorts, but also other grains and grain by products.  While primarily operating in the Province of Quebec, Michel will also cover the Maritimes, Ontario, and elsewhere in Canada as opportunities present themselves.   

Michel has been active in the grain and feed industry for about 25 years.Michel spent 18 years at Les Grains Lac Superieur, LTD in Quebec, trading Distillers Grains, Wheat Middlings, Gluten Feed, Soy Hulls and other grains and feed ingredients.  Before that he worked 5 years for Leblanc & Lafrance as a grain trader, and began his career in the agricultural business in late 80’s with Westway Molasses.  Michel is married with three sons, and loves golf and bowling. Dan grew up on an Upstate NY dairy farm and joined the FITC team after 4 years of working for Consolidated Grain and Barge as merchandiser and facility manager in the Ohio Valley region of the Midwest. 

As FITC’s newest member of the trading team, Dan is working to grow the grain business for the company as well as other opportunities.  Dan graduated from Cornell University in 2011 with a BS in Agricultural Science and minor in Business.  Dan enjoys playing sports and motorcycling when the weather offers the opportunity.

Sylvain Dumas - SD Grains, Inc.

Feed Ingredient Trading entered into an independent contractor's agreement with Sylvain and his company, SD Grains, Inc. to represent FITC's interests in the marketplace both in Canada and in the US States.

Sylvain has held various positions in the grain and ag industry after having graduated with degrees in Small Business Management and Logistics and Transportation in 1997. He has worked for Coop Federee in logistics and merchandising, for TRT in Trois Riverie, QU as manager of protein sales, and with ADM, Quebec as that office's Trading Manager.  Sylvain's primary focus for FITC will be on the oilseed protein products (soybean meal, canola meal, etc.), as well as other grains and by-products, particularly by rail, into these marketing ares. Sylvain is married with 2 daughters and a son. In his free time, he enjoys Hockey, running, and camping.  Sylvain can be reached at his office 438-497-5758.
